When your dentist's Alexa playlist 'With You' by AP Dhillon is on an endless loop.
Imagine- I've just received the crown from the lab, and I'm all set to place it on tooth and check its fit.
But the dental crown has other plans! Instead of settling in nicely, it starts rocking back and forth on the tooth. Our patient is about to catch a flight in two days!
To make things more entertaining, Banita from the song decides to join the party, dancing in front of eyes, and I asked myself "ab kya karega"?
.
As the tooth and the crown aren't getting along, I gracefully explained the situation to the patient and took a new impression and send that troublemaker crown back to the laboratory for adjustments or to get a new one made. That's how we troubleshoot some problems!

Creating Space for a Healthy Smile: Rapid Maxillary Expansion (RME), preventive orthodontics in Delhi
Did you know that early orthodontic intervention can prevent future dental issues? One of the most effective treatments for young patients with a narrow upper jaw is Rapid Maxillary Expansion (RME).
This is a case of child with paltally impacted supernumerary teeth (below buccally impacted central incisors). We expanded the jaw which lead to space between lateral incisors and that further lead to eruption of impacted supernumerary tooth which was placed palatal to central incisors. In this case, we'rehelping a child avoid crowding and misalignment by gently widening the upper jaw. We have planned to extract the talon's cuspid supernumerary teeth, which give way for central incisors to erupt naturally or by using orthodontic forces in later stages of the treatment.
R.M.E treatment creates more space for teeth to grow in properly, reducing the need for more extensive orthodontic work in the future.
RME is a safe and effective way to guide your child's dental development and ensure a healthy, beautiful smile. If you have concerns about your child's dental alignment, we're here to help. Schedule a consultation today to learn more about how RME can benefit your child!

Achieve a Beautiful, Healthy Smile
Orthodontic treatment has revolutionized the world of dentistry, offering patients a chance to improve both the appearance and functionality of their teeth. One of the most popular and effective orthodontic solutions is braces dental treatment. Braces are used to straighten misaligned teeth, correct bite issues, and provide a long-term solution to a variety of dental problems. Whether you're a teen or an adult, braces can help you achieve a beautiful, confident smile. In this comprehensive guide, we’ll dive deep into everything you need to know about braces dental treatment, including the types of braces, the treatment process, benefits, cost, and maintenance.
Braces are orthodontic appliances designed to align and straighten teeth. The goal of braces treatment is to correct misaligned teeth and bite issues, such as overbites, underbites, and crossbites. Braces work by applying constant, gentle pressure to move the teeth into their proper positions over time. This treatment is highly effective, and with modern advancements in orthodontics, it is suitable for patients of all ages, including both children and adults.
There are several types of braces available, each offering distinct advantages. While the traditional metal braces remain the most popular, advancements in dental technology have made other options, like ceramic, clear, and lingual braces, increasingly available.
The choice of braces depends on your dental needs, aesthetic preferences, and budget. Here’s an overview of the various types of braces:
Traditional metal braces have been the standard for orthodontic treatment for many years. They consist of stainless steel brackets that are attached to the teeth and connected by an archwire. The archwire applies pressure to the brackets, gradually moving the teeth into better alignment. Metal braces are durable and highly effective for treating a wide range of dental issues, from minor misalignments to more complex bite problems.
Pros of Metal Braces:
Cons of Metal Braces:
Ceramic braces function similarly to metal braces but use tooth-colored or clear brackets, making them less noticeable. This option is popular among adults and teens who prefer a more discreet treatment option but still need the effectiveness of traditional braces.
Pros of Ceramic Braces:
Cons of Ceramic Braces:
Clear aligners, such as Invisalign, have gained immense popularity in recent years due to their discreet appearance and ease of use. These custom-made, clear plastic trays fit over your teeth and gradually shift them into the desired position. Unlike traditional braces, clear aligners are removable, allowing patients to eat, drink, and brush their teeth without any obstacles.
Pros of Clear Aligners:
Cons of Clear Aligners:
Lingual braces are similar to traditional metal braces but are placed on the inside of the teeth, making them invisible from the outside. These braces are custom-made to fit the contours of your teeth and offer an effective solution for patients who want the benefits of braces without the visible appearance.
Pros of Lingual Braces:
Cons of Lingual Braces:
The journey to a beautiful, straight smile with braces involves several stages. While the exact process may vary depending on the type of braces you choose, the general steps remain the same:
The first step is a consultation with an experienced orthodontist. During this visit, the orthodontist will evaluate your dental health, take X-rays and impressions, and discuss your treatment goals. Based on the results, they will recommend the type of braces that is best suited for your dental needs.
Once you’ve decided on the type of braces you want, the orthodontist will begin the placement process. For traditional metal and ceramic braces, this involves attaching brackets to the front of your teeth using a bonding material. The archwire is then threaded through the brackets and secured with small elastic bands or ligatures. If you're using clear aligners, the orthodontist will take precise measurements of your teeth to create custom trays for your treatment.
Braces require regular adjustments to ensure your teeth are moving in the right direction. These appointments typically occur every 4 to 6 weeks. During each visit, the orthodontist will check the progress of your treatment, adjust the archwires, and replace any rubber bands or ligatures. Adjustments may cause temporary discomfort, but this usually subsides within a few days.
Once your braces have achieved the desired alignment, they will be removed. However, your treatment doesn’t end there. To maintain the new positions of your teeth, you’ll need to wear a retainer. Retainers help prevent your teeth from shifting back to their original positions. Your orthodontist will provide guidance on how long you need to wear your retainer, typically during the night.
Braces dental treatment offers numerous benefits, from improving the aesthetics of your smile to enhancing your overall dental health. Some of the key benefits of braces include:
One of the primary reasons patients seek braces treatment is to improve the appearance of their smile. Misaligned, crooked, or overcrowded teeth can detract from your confidence and self-esteem. Braces work to align the teeth and correct bite issues, giving you a straighter, more aesthetically pleasing smile.
Braces not only improve the look of your teeth but also enhance their functionality. Correcting bite issues can make it easier to chew, speak, and bite. A more aligned bite also reduces the strain on your jaw, which can prevent problems such as temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, jaw pain, and headaches.
Straight teeth are easier to clean and maintain. Misaligned teeth can trap food particles, making it harder to brush and floss effectively. This can lead to cavities, gum disease, and tooth decay. Braces help align your teeth, making it easier to keep your teeth and gums healthy in the long run.
A beautiful smile can significantly boost your self-esteem and confidence. Whether you're attending an important event, meeting new people, or simply interacting with others, knowing that your teeth are aligned can make you feel more self-assured.
The length of braces treatment varies depending on the severity of your dental issues, the type of braces used, and your personal treatment plan. On average, braces treatment can take anywhere from 18 months to 3 years. More complex cases may require a longer treatment time, while less severe cases can often be completed more quickly. Your orthodontist will provide you with an estimated timeline during your initial consultation.
The cost of braces treatment can vary significantly depending on the type of braces chosen, the complexity of the case, and the location of the orthodontic practice. On average, here’s what you can expect in terms of cost for braces in India:
The prices mentioned are approximate and can vary based on location, the orthodontist's experience, and other factors. Many orthodontic practices in India offer flexible payment plans or financing options to make braces more affordable for patients. Additionally, some dental insurance plans in India may cover a portion of the cost of braces treatment.
To ensure the best results and maintain your oral health throughout your treatment, it's important to follow a proper care routine:
Brush and Floss Regularly: With braces, it's essential to brush your teeth after every meal to remove food particles and plaque buildup. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. Additionally, flossing can be more challenging with braces, so consider using a floss threader or special orthodontic floss.
Avoid Certain Foods: Some foods, like sticky candies, hard nuts, and chewy snacks, can damage your braces. Avoid these foods to ensure your braces stay intact and your treatment progresses smoothly.
Attend Regular Checkups: Regular orthodontic appointments are key to ensuring that your braces are working as intended. Your orthodontist will make adjustments as needed to keep the treatment on track.
Wear Your Retainer: After your braces are removed, it’s crucial to wear your retainer as directed by your orthodontist to prevent your teeth from shifting back.
Braces dental treatment is an effective and reliable solution for achieving a beautiful, healthy smile. With various options available—metal, ceramic, clear aligners, and lingual braces—there’s a treatment option for every patient, whether you’re looking for discretion, effectiveness, or affordability. By choosing braces, you’re investing in not only a more attractive smile but also long-term dental health and functionality.
If you’re considering braces, consult with an experienced orthodontist who can guide you through the process, recommend the best treatment option for your needs, and provide you with a customized treatment plan. Start your journey to a straighter, healthier smile today! Contact us for a consultation and take the first step towards achieving the smile you've always wanted.

Dental implants have revolutionized the field of restorative dentistry, offering a permanent solution to missing teeth. At Dr. Popli's Dental Clinic and Implant Centre, we specialize in providing high-quality dental implant services. Additionally, we are empanelled under the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) as Dr. Popli's Dental and Medical Care Centre, ensuring accessible and affordable dental care for eligible beneficiaries.
Dental implants are titanium posts surgically placed into the jawbone to replace missing tooth roots. They provide a strong foundation for fixed or removable replacement teeth, designed to match your natural teeth.
Improved Aesthetics: Dental implants look and feel like natural teeth, enhancing your smile.
Enhanced Comfort: Unlike dentures, implants eliminate discomfort and slippage.
Durability: With proper care, implants can last a lifetime.
Improved Speech: Implants prevent the slurring or mumbling associated with ill-fitting dentures.
Better Oral Health: They don't require reducing adjacent teeth, preserving natural tooth structure.
Our experts conduct a thorough examination, including X-rays and 3D imaging, to assess bone density and determine the best implant placement.
The titanium post is surgically placed into the jawbone under local anesthesia. A healing period of 3-6 months follows to allow osseointegration.
Once the implant has integrated with the bone, an abutment is attached to connect the implant to the replacement tooth.
A custom-made crown is placed over the abutment, completing the restoration.
Single Tooth Implants: Ideal for replacing one missing tooth.
Multiple Tooth Implants: Used when several teeth are missing.
All-on-4 Implants: A full-arch restoration using four implants.
Mini Implants: Smaller in diameter, suitable for limited spaces.
Dental implants are generally considered elective procedures and may not be fully covered under CGHS. However, Dr. Popli's Dental and Medical Care Centre assists CGHS beneficiaries in obtaining prior approval for implant procedures. We provide guidance on documentation and submission to facilitate the reimbursement process. yagudentaltech.com

Metal-Free Crowns: Full-coverage restorations that encase the entire tooth. Made entirely of ceramic for a highly aesthetic and natural appearance. Ideal for teeth that are damaged, heavily filled, root canal-treated, or structurally weak. You may be the right candidate for veneers if: Your teeth are mostly healthy and need only aesthetic improvement. You have gaps between teeth or slightly crooked teeth. Your teeth are stained or discolored and don’t respond well to whitening. You want to change the shape or size of your teeth for a more harmonious smile. Metal-free crowns may be your best choice if: Your teeth are weakened by decay, fractures, or large fillings. You've had root canal treatment. You have short, worn-down, or chipped teeth. You want a cosmetic solution that also strengthens your teeth. 1. Will the treatment be painful? 2. How long will the results last? 3. Will my smile look natural? 4. What if I’m still not sure what’s right for me? ✅ Boosts self-confidence It’s normal to feel hesitant before making a decision about your smile. But remember—your smile is worth investing in. Don’t Wait Until It’s Too Late — The Importance of Root Canal Treatment and Dental Fillings
At Dr. Popli’s Dental & Medical Care Centre, we recently had to extract a severely decayed tooth that could have been saved with a simple filling or timely root canal treatment. The patient delayed dental care for too long, leading to pus formation, sinus drainage, and intense pain. This case is a strong reminder of why early intervention is essential.
In this article, we’ll help you understand everything about root canal treatments and dental fillings, when you need them, and how to save your teeth before it’s too late.
Tooth decay begins when plaque and bacteria break down the outer layer of the tooth (enamel). If untreated, decay spreads deeper into the tooth, affecting the dentin and eventually reaching the pulp (the nerve inside your tooth). This can cause:
